2020-21 Planning for Re-Opening of Schools
Planning for Re-Opening of Schools & COVID-19 Information
The Pearl River Re-Opening Plans represent the hard work of more than a hundred dedicated individuals who gave their time, talent, and effort voluntarily, and enthusiastically, to produce a document by which we can safely return to school and resume our critical functions of teaching and learning. I deeply appreciate the support of our staff, parents, and community in this undertaking. The contributions that have been made to these plans, the innovative thinking, and the genuine concern for the well-being of all of our students, staff, and the families everyone returns home to are evident and representative of a community that has come together to meet a common challenge.
These plans conform to the present guidelines provided by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) and the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and are presented as a living document, with the understanding that the District must be able to respond with agility to a rapidly changing environment. Our plans will be revised and updated as new information from NYSED, and NYSDOH becomes available.
I know that we are all eager for a full return to school, especially in the manner that is most familiar, and we believe, best for our students. The plans that we have created are intended to bring us closer to it in the safest ways possible.
