May- June

Dear Families,

May and June are so chock-full of events and activities that I refer to the last two months of school as "MaJune."  I am certain you feel the frenetic aspect of this time of year with the addition of the time consuming after school events:  baseball, softball, karate, swimming, dance, scouting etc. The major consolation is that you will have two months of hopefully unscheduled time to decompress.  Here is a list of upcoming Franklin Avenue events to add to your schedule:

Ø  May 1^st-3^rd   Used Book Sale

Ø   May 3^rd -     Kindergarten  trip to Outrageous Pets
     Fourth grade trip to the middle school (AM)
     Fourth grade to Central Avenue for Gazebo Day (PM)

Ø   May 7^{th -}      Teacher Appreciation Day
     Fourth grade photo

Ø   May 8^{th -}        Nurse's Appreciation Day

Ø   May 9^th -      Third grade trip to the Norwalk Aquarium
  Plant Sale

Ø   May 10^th -  Plant Sale

  Wrestling Fundraiser for the playground (High School 7:00)

Ø   May 14^th -  Fourth grade trip to Albany

Ø   May 16^th -  Band and orchestra concert (9:30am)

Ø   May 31^st -  Choral concert (9:30am)

Ø   June 5^th -  Field day

Ø   June 6^{th -} Book Fair browsing
 Third grade Country Presentations (2:15)

Ø   June 7^th -   Book Fair shopping

   Family  picnic (6:00)

Ø   June 10^{th -}  Field Day (rain date)

Ø    June 12^{th -} First grade trip to the Turtleback Zoo

Ø   June 13^{th -}      Kindergarten Celebration (9:30am)

Ø   June 14^{th -}      Fourth grade picnic to Woodmont

Ø   June 19^{th -}   Fourth grade promotion (9:30am)

Ø   June 20^{th -}      K-3  Moving  Up
   Noon Dismissal
    No AM/PM kindergarten

Ø   June 21^st - Last day of school (10:30 dismissal)
