Applying for a Permanent Certified Position

Applying for a Permanent Non-Certified Position
Non-certified positions related to clerical, secretarial, maintenance, and grounds are filled in accordance with Civil Service rules and regulations. The majority of these positions require passing a NYS Civil Service test. Please visit the Rockland County Department Personnel website for a list of Open Competitive Exams.
Teacher aides must have prior experience working with children.

Applying for a Substitute Teaching Position
Pearl River School District is accepting applications for substitute teachers. NYS certified teachers preferred, however teachers with out-of-state certifications and college graduates (minimally a BA/BS) with NYSED fingerprint clearance will also be considered for the current school year. Substitute Teacher Application
Applying for a Substitute Nurse Position
Substitute School Nurse positions are filled on a per-diem basis when one of our nurses is out sick or on a field trip. All applicants must currently be licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse. Please complete the attached application and call the Human Resources and Community Services Office at 845-620-3928 for an interview. You will need to bring the completed application, your professional license, CPR certificate and three professional reference letters to the interview. At least two of the reference letters must be from individuals in a supervisory position. Please note that all substitute nurses must be fingerprinted and cleared as per NYSED requirements.
Substitute School Nurse Application
Applying for a Substitute Teaching Assistant
Substitute Teaching Assistants are needed to support student instruction on a per-diem basis. If you are interested in becoming a K-12 substitute teaching assistant in the Pearl River School District, please download an application from the link listed below. Please call one of the schools listed above for an interview. Candidates should bring a completed application, resume, and three professional reference letters to the interview. At least two of the reference letters must be from individuals in a supervisory position. Please note that all substitute TA's must be fingerprinted and cleared as per NYSED requirements.

Substitute Monitor positions are needed to support student supervision on a per-diem basis. Shifts run from 2-4 hours per day when school is in session.
