2017-18 School Board Election Information
Qualified Board of Education candidates interested in running for the board must submit a nominating petition signed by 25 or more Pearl River School District qualified voters. District residents seeking to place a citizen-initiated petition on the May 16th ballot must submit a petition signed by 55 or more Pearl River School District qualified voters. All petitions must be returned to the district clerk’s office by 5:00 PM on Monday, April 17th. Blank petitions are available in the district clerk's office at 135 West Crooked Hill Road, Pearl River, and open between the hours of 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
There is one open seat for the Board of Education. One candidate is running for this position, incumbent Thomas DePrisco. The term commences on July 1, 2017 and runs through June 30, 2020.

As Mr. DePrisco is running unopposed, our tentative candidates night, originally scheduled for Tuesday, May 9th, has been cancelled. Elections will be held on Tuesday, May 15th, together with the Annual School Budget Vote.

Who May Vote - Voter Registration:
In order to vote in the upcoming school budget vote and board elections, voters must be registered with the Rockland County Board of Elections or PRSD. To find out if you are registered, contact the district clerk, Mary Flanagan , at 620-3924. Eligible residents can register with Mrs. Flanagan in the district administration offices during regular office hours. In-person registration is required along with photo identification and proof of residence. The district administration building is located at 135 West Crooked Hill Road, Pearl River. The last day to register for the school vote is Friday, May 5, 2017.
To be eligible to register, you must be:
• 18 years of age or older on the day of the vote
• A citizen of the United States
• A resident of the Pearl River School District for at least 30 days prior to the day of the vote
Registered voters unable to make it to the polls during polling hours can obtain an absentee ballot, starting Wednesday, May 3rd, from the district clerk, Mary Flanagan at firstname.lastname@example.org or 845-620-3924. Ballots must be returned to Mrs. Flanagan no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16th.
